3rd November 2010, QC summary

Assalamualaikum waramahtullahiwabarakatuh brothers and sisters :)

Since a few have been asking about the QC sessions (it's very intriguing, i know :p), I decided to give a summary of yesterday's session. This might be beneficial to the sisters who weren't able to come, InsyaAllah.

As Kaka JD reminded us, please open your hearts and minds before proceeding.

The agenda was more or else the same as last week's, but slightly more organised (i hope). The session started with the recitation of Al-Fatihah, followed by a short reminder for the sisters to correct their 'niat' as to why we gathered. Other aspects of the session was just complementary to the session so that sisters were able to get to know each other better.

The ayat we looked at was Surah Al-Imran, 187-194. Please refer to your tafsirs :)
Reflections upon it was based on a consensus that knowledge is only beneficial to the believers of Allah for those who have knowledge of Allah are those who will truly appreciate our nikmat and rezeki. Why should we need further proof of Allah's existence when we can just look at our surroundings, the earth, the sea, the sky. How wonderful and magnificent is Allah's creation? Surely science gives us hard evidence about the condensation of clouds, the photosynthesis in plants but why do we not ponder as to why something so simple could make a huge difference to the existence of humanity and civilisation? SubhanAllah. everything created by Allah, surely has it's benefits.

Dhikir was also one of the topics we slightly touched with regards to the ayat. 'Verily in the rememberance of Allah, do hearts find rest.'- Surah Ra'ad; 28

Technology, yet again, has never failed to be of great use to improve our imagination and understanding. A short video was shared with the great soundtrack of Maher Zain's 'Open your eyes' which made an even more transparent message in relation to the ayat.

Continuing from that discussion, a sister shared an asbabul nuzul (the reason why the surah/ayat was descended) This week's session was centred on Surah Al-Kafirun which reinforced our belief that Allah knows everything, even what is in our hearts, even if we do not know ourselves. Subhanallah.

To end the session, I asked the sisters to write a quote or advise and randomly drew out another sister's quote that was to serve as a reminder to yourself.

Alhamdullilah alhamdullilah alhamdullilah :)

Lastly, Astaghfirullah, I would like to apologize if there were instances of confusion and disagreement. All good comes from Allah and the bad comes from myself.

Kind Regards.
